We are still interested in publishing of books both fiction and non fiction that we feel is of interest, but also articles and editorials. Right now we are focusing on fiction books. Recently we were approached by a popular author who had written a science fiction thriller that involved magical crystals made from a type of cubic zirconia that is found on a distant planet. If you are as unfamiliar with actual cubic zirconia, let me take a moment to explain what this crystal is. Cubic zirconia is a synthetic gemstone that very closely resembles diamonds. It’s that gemstone you’ve probably have seen the ads on TV touting its startling diamond-like appearance and inexpensive price tag.
Cubic zirconia is a highly popular gemstone used frequently in jewelry such as rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Cubic zirconia is not only crystalline in appearance, but also flawless, and clear enough to rate a “D” on the diamond scale for color, but it is considerably less expensive than diamonds. In the story the magical cz gemstones are only black in its natural state. It isn’t until its magical powers are activated where the cz gemstones changes color to either a soft yellow that is characteristic of some diamonds, or to other more unusual colors. Just as in our world the fictional cubic zirconia weighs about 65% more than an equivalent diamond. However in the book, the most valuable cubic zirconia crystals are quite large. However a group of power hungry antagonists discover that when smaller cubic zirconia are used in profusion in a piece of jewelry, the power emanating from the entire piece would be the equivalent of a large crystal. Anyway, the plot involves the smuggling a lot of jewelry made from the magical cz onto our world and the havoc that results.
We are in the process of publishing this book and negotiating a movie deal as well. We’ll keep you posted.
